Doreen Mooney, from Butuan, Philippines, received the prestigious Member of the British Empire (MBE) at Ward 10, Good Hope Hospital in Birmingham. She received the recognition for helping teenagers manifesting anti-social behavior through New Heights, the organization she founded in Kingstanding, Birmingham, one of the most deprived areas in the UK.
Doreen migrated to the UK twelve years ago for work, where she also had her second chance in love and marriage with now husband Duncan, who is very supportive of her work and passion.
