Once, the world barely knew the names of Filipina women in leadership. Now, we make sure they are not just known but remembered.
On March 28, from 5-8 PM, we gather at the historic Khalili Theatre, SOAS University of London for two momentous events—Celebrating Myla Arceno’s appointment as FWN Ambassador to the United Kingdom and DISRUPTing United Kingdom, the launch of DISRUPT 5.0: Filipina Women Leading with Intersectionality. The School of Oriental and African Studies) has a Philippine Studies Program headed by Dr. Cristina Martinez Juan.
CELEBRATING MYLA
Born in the small town of Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, Philippines, Myla Arceno (Global FWN100™ 2022) defied expectations to become the first Filipina Mayor and Councillor of Stevenage.
She carries the strength of every Filipina woman who dared to dream beyond boundaries. Now, as FWN Ambassador to the United Kingdom, she steps into a new role—championing Filipina women leaders on the global stage.
DISRUPTing London
Filipina women leadership is not a moment. It is a lifelong movement. On this same night, the voices behind the DISRUPT Filipina Leadership Series take the stage. Authors, guest readers, and youth leaders will bring to life the words that have sparked change and challenged the limits placed on Filipina women.
