Analisa Balares
Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Womensphere
Global FWN100™ '14
Growing up with strong grandmothers and a strong mother, in a country under the leadership of Philippine President Corazon Aquino, Analisa always had strong female role models. However, in her global journey, she realized that inequality deeply persists worldwide, that women are persistently held back from opportunities for education, careers, and leadership. Analisa made it her life's mission to address the gender inequality that women face globally.
At Womensphere, Analisa is dedicated to advancing women's leadership in business and markets; science and technology; education and academia; media, culture, and the arts; law, policy and government; sustainability and development; and entrepreneurship and social innovation.
Analisa holds an MBA from Harvard Business School; a BA in Economics & Mathematics cum laude from Mount Holyoke College; and the International Baccalaureate Diploma from Lester Pearson United World College in Canada, as a Scholar of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the Ayala Foundation. She was a silver medalist from the Manila Science High School.
Analisa was recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, one of 30 Outstanding Women Leaders by the National Council for Research on Women, with the Madam C.J. Walker Leadership Award by the National Minority Business Council, Fearless Woman of the Year by The Fearless Factor and 40 Under 40 New Leaders in America by the New Leaders Council,
