FWN members convened at the Ramon Magsaysay Room at the Manila Peninsula Hotel on March 8th to #TakeAction in celebration of International Women's Day. The celebration brought together over a dozen FWN members and awardees for an afternoon of great food, networking and inspiring conversations to kick off the 13th Filipina Leadership Global Summit in the Philippines this September. The discussion focused on gender parity and a thoughtful discussion of how we can mobilize Filipina women to lead on parity issues as a FWN strategy initiative.
In light of International Women's Day, the International Labor Organization's (ILO) recent report findings show that women still face enormous challenges and barriers to finding and keeping jobs. In many regions of the world, women were more likely to stay unemployed: 6.2% of women are jobless across the world compared to 5.5% of men - and often had to accept lower quality jobs.
