Mariam Barandia was awarded the 2016 N-Peace Awards for her efforts to bring inter-religious peace at the grass-roots level by setting up the Kapamagogopa Incorporated, an Islamic volunteer group that brings Muslim and Christian communities together in the Philippines.

In recognition of her achievements, California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye (U.S. FWN100™ '07) received the 2016 Morton A. Brody Distinguished Judicial Service Award. The honor has been given biennially since 2001 to “an outstanding United States federal or state judge who embodies the qualities of integrity, compassion, humanity, and judicial craftsmanship;” qualities which underscored Judge Brody’s life.
