Buy 1, Give 1 DISRUPT Books

This year, Filipina Women’s Network celebrates the holiday gift-giving season through a special promotion of the DISRUPT Filipina Leadership Book series.

How does it work? It’s very simple!

When you buy one of the DISRUPT books, why not gift another to a young Filipina you know who would be inspired one day to influence the world? Or choose to donate the book to a library of your choice.

The FWN Filipina Leadership Book Series fills the gap in the leadership literature that has missed the opportunity to survey the leadership competencies of the women of Philippine ancestry. A ground-breaking book series that documents the leadership stories about victories over poverty, domestic violence, incarceration, discrimination and harassment which shaped their world view, leader identity, life purpose, power and influence. The book series  is key to FWN’s strategy in building its pipeline of qualified leaders that some will rise to the leadership position in all sectors of the economy. The authors and contributors are recipients of the Filipina Women's Network's 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World™ Award™.

A successful career requires a constituency and a support network.
— Marily Mondejar, 1998

"As a volunteer in a political campaign, I was unwittingly participating in derailing a rising Filipina executive's career to get to her boss, the incumbent elected official. I watched her career decline, and soon she resigned. Where was the Filipino American community? Where were the Filipina women? Who was advising her? Why was she not responding to the media frenzy?

This was a learning moment. It firmed up for me the need for having a network of support. Your own advisory board. A sisterhood. The men have known this for years: the old boys network is there for the bro."
