The face of global pinay power

Inspired by the female empowerment image of “Rosie the Riveter”, FWN conducted a worldwide search for the Filipina Rosa the Riveter to be the face of Global Pinay Power.

Francine Maigue (Global FWN100™ ’15) of Chula Vista, California is the Face of Global Pinay Power!

A Harvard graduate and as an emerging influential leader, Francine is passionate about engaging and empowering underrepresented communities, especially her fellow Filipina sisters. She is committed to encouraging Filipina women explore their leadership potential and pursue their professional goals with the respect and equitable opportunities they deserve, locally and globally. 

Filipina Women Leadership Book Series

The Filipina Women Leadership Book Series is a compilation of narratives and case studies by Filipina leaders based in countries around the world.

Key themes in DISRUPT 1.0: Filipina Women: Proud. Loud. Leading Without a Doubt. include identity (including consanguinity and affinity), migration, gender, and leadership on public policy, advocacy, diplomacy, entrepreneurship and other sectors. 

Key themes in DISRUPT 2.0: Filipina Women: Daring to Lead. include life disruptions, workplace disruptions initiated,
leadership competencies developed for oneself, for leading others, for leading organizations and legacy building for next generation leaders.

FEMtorMatch™

FEMtorMatch™ is FWN’s strategy for development of the next generation of Filipina leaders through local and global partnerships between female mentors—FEMtors™ and female mentees—FEMtees™. FEMtorMatch™ provides structured one-on-one mentoring that harnesses the power of the Internet to broaden and deepen the reach of traditional mentoring. Thus, both FEMtors™ and FEMtees™ can reside anywhere in the world.

Rebuild Tacloban for the Women and Girls

In response to the devastation wrought by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in 2013, FWN embarked on economic livelihood projects for the women survivors of Tacloban City in the Philippines.

Contributions and all proceeds go to these special projects FWN ignited to help in the rebuilding efforts in collaboration with Feed the Hungry Philippines.
