ASK A FILIPINA: #20 DISRUPT Leadership Tip from Amelia Duran-Stanton, Deputy Chief of Inspections/Ortho Physician Assistant, U.S. Army (Global FWN100™ '13)

Amelia Stanton

Persistence, resilence and passion are key for long term success. You may not be the smartest or most qualified for every job you want. However, by being persistent in identifying your shortcomings and being passionate in taking action to address them, you will succeed. Resilience is important in overcoming obstacles. There will always be someone who will make negative comments or will not be supportive of the goals that you have for yourself. Being resilient will enable you to ignore the negativity, enable you to pick yourself up quickly when you fall or get pushed down, and to brush yourself off and get back on track.
