In 2011, a Filipina woman was struck and killed by a vehicle as she crossed the street in a marked crosswalk in National City, CA. Valerie Hong of Pettit Kohn Ingrassia & Lutz represented the decedent’s family and brought suit against the driver of the vehicle and a property owner. After a five-year legal battle, the case went to trial in September 2016, and lasted ten days. The jury returned a verdict of $1,034,344 in favor of the decedent’s family after one day of deliberation.

Barbers (NP) in her bid for the 2nd Congressional District of the province. Lucille Sering stepped down from her post as Climate Change Commission Vice Chairman last October to run for Congress. Sering, a member of the Liberal Party, assumed the post of Climate Change Commission chief in 2010. Before entering government service, Sering was associate dean of the San Sebastian College of Law.
