Congratulations to Dori Caminong, Manager of Special Events, Civic + Social Innovation for Glide. A native San Franciscan, Dori was unanimously approved by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to the Entertainment Commission after unanimously endorsed by the Rules Committee.
The San Francisco Entertainment Commission regulates, promotes and enhances entertainment and nightlife in the city of San Francisco. The seven member commission has authority to accept, review and gather information to conduct hearings for entertainment-related permit applications.
Dori is the neighborhood representative seat representing the interests of City neighborhood associations or groups. Working in the Tenderloin, Dori is a strong advocate for neighborhood issues while also promoting the interests of entertainment and nightlife which is so critical to the character and economic development of the City.
Her background as a Filipina American is an important perspective to this seven member board that currently includes our very own Al Perez, President of the Filipino American Arts Exposition. Her appointment to the Commission is a furtherance of FWN's goal to have San Francisco's Boards and Commission become more inclusive of the diversity of San Francisco-- including our Filipino community leaders.
Way to go, Dori and Mabuhay ka!
