Congrats, Aimee Alado (Global FWN100™ ’15) for executive producing the much heralded Appellation of Origin: The Philippines (AOoP) in London, U.K. which raised visibility for the Philippine Brand in the U.K. and benefiting four Philippine charities. The event made history in the U.K. that showcased a grand gala celebration of Filipino creativity, fashion and talent. AOoP highlighted the rich Filipino tradition of textiles, weaving and embroidery through an exciting fashion show with unique designs by Filipino designers Joseph Aloysius Montelibano and Jaki Peñalosa.
The First Reel: Rising Voices is the first Philippine Film Festival in Berlin organized by Michaela Lola Abrera in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Berlin, Germany. Various film screenings of Filipino short films and feature films will take place on November 18th - 20th and November 25th and 26th at Kino Moviemento Kottbusser Damm 22 10967 Berlin, Germany. Epekto Art Projects in coordination with the Oakland Asian Cultural Center presents Now Is It, an art exhibit featuring 14 Bay Area Filipino/a American artists for Filipino American History month in October. Appetizers and drinks will be provided at the reception.
