Col. Shirley Raguindin's recent visit to Hawaii was a success! She participated in a book reading and mentorship session with Dr. Agbayani, UH Manoa Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Diversity Director, 30 Filipina Professors, Community leaders and youth.  She also participated in two radio talk programs - KPRR with Emmie Anderson and KNDI Radio Talk, on Global Filipina Leadership.

Female pilots are rapidly increasing and earning their seats in the cockpit in the male-dominated airline industry with Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines records showing that there are now 25  certified woman pilots operating planes across the country in the first quarter of 2015.

Jerry Brown, Larry Itliong Day will now be observed on October 25. Assemblyman Rob Bonta, who introduced the bill, says it's important for young people in California to understand the contributions of Filipino-Americans to the state. He says it's a narrative that's often not told in history books.

Woo Hoo! NYC Mayor De Blasio Appoints Filipina Maria Torres Springer New Head of Economic Development Corporation

New York City’s main agency for economic development will be run by Maria Torres-Springer, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Monday.

The mayor appointed Ms. Torres-Springer, who had been running the city’s Small Business Services agency, to succeed Kyle Kimball as president of the Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Kimball resigned in March and joined the utility Consolidated Edison last week.
