Equal Access To Abortion Coverage In Health Insurance (EACH Woman) Act Introduced

Members of Congress introduced a bold and visionary bill that would ensure every woman—no matter her income or source of insurance—can afford an abortion if she needs one. Our champions, led by Representatives Barbara Lee, Jan Schakowsky, and Diana DeGette, introduced the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH Woman) Act!

Act now to thank our champions for sponsoring the EACH Woman Act!

There are many women in our community that struggle for enough money to have a child when the time is right. Twelve percent of AAPI women, as compared to 10.6% of white women, live in poverty. The numbers are higher for many of our families: 28% of Hmong, 26.6% of Burmese and 17.5% of Native Hawaiians & Pacific Islanders women live in poverty.

Bans on insurance coverage for abortion can create insurmountable barriers for a woman who needs to make important, personal decisions based on what’s best for her and her family. Under the EACH Woman Act, legislators will no longer be able to interfere with a woman’s reproductive decision-making by withholding insurance coverage for abortion care.

Raise your voice in support of lifting the restrictions on abortion coverage! Tell your legislators that you support the EACH Woman Act and they should too. Together, we can ensure that every woman is able to make her own decisions about pregnancy.
