Asian Pacific Institute on Gender-Based Violence released a report on the Intersections of Human Trafficking, Domestic Violence, and Sexual Assault.
The report integrates analysis, insight, and expertise from advocates and survivors that can serve as a primer for program design for adult, young adult, and youth victims of trafficking; forge collaborations; expand the field’s knowledge of trauma connected to early victimization; and inform safety, healing, empowerment, and justice.

In a 2013 demographics study, Pew Research Center identified Filipinos as the second largest Asian American group in the US, numbering more than 3.4 million. The 2016 National Asian American Survey (NAAS), a scientific and nonpartisan effort looking into the opinions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, was released on October 5, revealing some interesting findings about this Filipino-American voters and their thoughts about the US elections, the candidates, and key US issues. A collection of narratives entitled "Growing Up with Autism: Journeys of Love, Devotion, and Hope", edited by Lirio Sobrevinas- Covey, Ph.D. (U.S. FWN100™ 2013), was launched on October 22, 2016 at the Ateneo Law School in Makati. The book launch was held in conjunction with the 5th Annual Symposium organized by the Association for Adults with Autism Philippines (AAAP).
Lirio is the founder and president of AAAP and is Professor of Clinical Psychology at Columbia University Medical Center, New York, NY.

Just after Pearl Harbor Day, a motherless six-year-old girl awakens when a bomb falls a block from her home, the beginning of years of shattering deprivation.
In World War II Manila, Katinka suffers starvation, illness, and cruelty and loses family in the infamous Bataan Death March. She survives the Japanese occupation and the Battle of Manila. By the end of the war, Manila is destroyed and a million Filipinos are dead, but Katinka has endured the worst and now experiences the American liberation and reconstruction.
