Cris Comerford is the first woman and person of color to hold the position. She was hired as assistant chef in 1995 before being appointed as head of the White House kitchen by First Lady Laura Bush. Cris has teamed up with First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Initiative to help promote healthy and nourishing food.
