In 2017, Singapore was identified as the world's second-largest trader of shark fins after Hong Kong. Between 2012 and 2013, Singapore exported $40 million worth of shark fins and imported $51.4 million worth of fins. In February, 89 Singapore-based establishments committed to phasing out shark fin in 2018. These include brands such as Crystal Jade, Pan Pacific Hotels, AccorHotels and Foodpanda, whose policy applies across its 3,800 partner restaurants

The Philippines' Oldest Brewery Opens The Doors of the Destileria Limtauco Museum in Intramuros
Manila’s Walled City is expected to attract a share of wine enthusiasts, brought by the opening of a distillery museum. Olivia Limpe-Aw (Global FWN100™ '16), a fifth generation master brewer and President of Destileria Limtuaco & Co. Inc. said the museum would show the feats and challenges the 165-year old company faced, from times of war up to the present.

California Appeals Court: Dating services can’t charge older folks more on belief they are wealthier
The dating service, Tinder Plus, offers a basic online product without charge, but added a premium service in 2015 that charged $19.99 a month to customers over 30 and $9.99 or $14.99 for younger customers. California Appeals Court ruled on Monday that an online dating service can’t charge higher rates to customers over 30 even though they might be able to afford it.
Silverado to Pay $80,000 to Settle EEOC Pregnancy Discrimination Lawsuit
Silverado, a network of memory care, at-home care, and hospice care centers, will pay $80,000 and provide other relief to settle a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. Silverado discriminated against Shaquena Burton, a caregiver at the Silverado Oak Village facility in Menomonee Falls, Wisc., when it fired her rather than accommodate her pregnancy-related medical restrictions.
